On Saturday, August 23, 2003 the Wooden Nickel Historical Museum dedicated the
World's Largest Wooden Nickel to the VFW.
Each year this giant Wooden Nickel (13ft 4in diameter, 2,500 lbs) gets
resurfaced and dedicated to a different non-profit organization.
Honor guard was provided by Alamo Heights High School JROTC.
